The Ga Abola Piam Royal Stool Clan made up of Nii Ayittey Osu and Nii Ayi Tunma family (We), custodians of the Ga Mantse throne and legitimate beneficiaries of the Ga Paramount Stool has officially nominated, selected, confined and installed a Twenty two years experiences trained investigative journalist, Henry Ayi Addo as the New Ga State Paramount Stool Dzaasetse with the Royal Stool Title Nii Ayi Ana Kon Teh II of the Ga State.
The ceremony started about one week of intensive monitoring of the conduct of Henry Ayi Addo was finally accepted when Nii Ayitey Osu family captured him at his office to put him into confinement for the installation as Ga Paramount Stool Dzaasetse to meet the herculean task that has been under pressure since the demise of the late Nii Amugi Sorse II the Ga Mantse.
This according to Nii Ayittey Osu family has brought the whole of the Ga State into ridicule and chaos.
The Ayittey Osu family are direct lineage custodian of the Ga Mantse Stool from the Nii Ayi Tunma family of Abola Piam Stool.
According to records, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2005 among the Four Royal Ruling Gates of the Ga State indicate that the Abola Piam We has its turn to rule as Ga Mantse.
This and a Ruling from the Regional House of Chiefs, Dodowa in 2016 reveal that the Ga Mantse throne has reached the turn of the Abola Piam We to rule.
The information according to sources now further reveals that a member of the Abola Piam We family, known as Yaya Addy played a significant role in the installation of Boni Tackie Adama Latse with the support of then Head of the Nii Ayittey Osu family, Nii Ayitey Osu II, brought in the adoption of Boni Tackie Adama Latse II from the Teiko Tsuru family to be installed as Ga Mantse.
The situation boiled down till today with who holds the legitimate office as Ga Dzaasetse since the demise of Nii Amugi Sorse II, Ga Mantse.
Now, the onus by statutes currently holds who and which house has the mandate by tradition and custom to install a Dzaasetse for the Ga State. It will interest you to know that all the confusion and chaos as well as the wrangling in the position of the Ga Mantse is vested in only the Ga Paramount Stool Dzaasetse to determine who should be the Ga Mantse.
This is the reason why the Nii Ayitey Osu family has continued to be mentioned in every meeting that is related to the installation of the Ga Mantse.
Several attempts to mediate with Nii Ayitey Osu III, Head of family for Nii Ayittey Osu family has failed because its former Head of family was responsible for the cause of adoption of Boni Tackie Adama Latse II who is currently with a gazette from both the Regional House of Chiefs and the National House of Chiefs representing as the Ga Mantse.
Today, the Nii Ayittey Osu family upon several consultations has decided to install a Ga Dzaasetse in the personality of a renowned journalist, Henry Nii Ayi Addo with the title Nii Ayi Ana Kon Teh II.
The ceremony was fully represented by the Nii Ayittey Osu Quaye family of Abola Piam on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Nii Ayittey Osu residence in Accra.
Libation was made then a cleansing rite was done for the former Abola Kpatashie Dzaasetse, Nii Okai Awuah (Henry Ayi Addo) to symbolize a purification process of alleged destoolment exercise against him by the Heads of Nunoo family, Abraham Nii Okai Nunoo, Ebenezer Nunoo and Nicholas Nunoo which was widely publicized in the media as a sign of tarnishing his image and reputation among the Ga society.
However, a letter from the Nunoo family to both the Gborbu Wulomo and the Korle Wulomo, major traditional rulers who were consulted before the installation of Henry Addo, immediately condemned the proposed destoolment and nullified the action of the Nunoo family with an immediate response letter that the Dzaasetse, Nii Oki Awuah a.k.a Henry Addo has not ever been cited nor reported to them about any act of misconduct in his leadership role as the Ga Abola Dzaasetse.
The Gborbu Wulomo further noted in the conclusion of his response letter to the Head of the Nunoo family that he will continue to recognize Nioi Okai Awuah II as the Ga Abola Royal Stool Dzaasetse and work with him. Copies of these letters were addressed to the Ga Traditional Council, the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, the Accra Regional Police Commander and the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs to rather recognise Nii Okai Awuah II as Dzaasetse of the Abola Stool.
The making of libation to induct Henry Ayi Addo into the Nii Ayittey Osu Quaye family as Ga Abola Piam Dzaasetse was performed by Nii Ayittey Osu III, Head of family of Nii Ayittey Oseu Weku of Abola Piam.
Also present to witness the ceremony were Stool fathers from various divisional houses of Accra made up of Abraham Nii Adjumako Nunoo of Otublohom Djan We division and Osiahene of Abola Piam, and the representative from the Sempe Saka Tsuru family.
Others include, the Abola Kpatashie Sanahene, Nii Ahele Nansiedu I, Naa Okudji Oman Tewulu I, Nii Opah of Abola Kpatashie, Asafoatse Abodjwe, Bishop Proestword Daniel Nii Aflah Quaye, Theophilus Ataa Kwei Quaye, Jonathan Tetteh Quaye, Prince Tetteh Quaye, Robert Tetteh Quaye and Edward Ayittey Quaye.
