An up-and-coming dancehall artiste in Cape Coast in the Central Region, Unruly Grank, has been stabbed to death.

The incident occurred on Sunday, 7 February 2021 during a ‘rap battle’.

The artiste, whose real name was Emmanuel Aikins, 24, was stabbed during a misunderstanding between him and an artisan, Bright Ellis, 27, at the Orange Beach Resort.

The artiste was pronounced dead at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital where he was taken there.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sergeant Isaac Evans Entie, explained that a fight broke out between the suspect and another dancehall artiste in Cape Coast, over who was more popular when the two met for a ‘rap battle.’

The melee turned bloody among the artistes and their fans.

This led to Ellis stabbing Emmanuel.

The police have since commenced investigations into the incident while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
